In November, we got to work on a great project for Volvo Ireland, following their successful pop-up shop in Dundrum Town Centre. This time, the brand took a space on Grafton Street; Ireland’s premier retail destination for the run-up to Christmas. The aim of the store was to build brand awareness for the XC40 while creating an opportunity for Volvo to engage with both its core customers and potential new buyers.
The design of the shop was to be in keeping with the brands’ Scandinavian ethos with a minimalist design to emphasise the XC40 model as the key feature. For the build, we knocked down all existing walls, bringing the shop back to its original size and creating as much space as possible. Once this was done; new walls were installed along with all new flooring and a custom-made coffee area. In terms of customer interaction, two screens were fitted; one touch screen which allows consumers to get in-depth information on the car along with a video screen showcasing the vehicle in motion. For the exteriors, the entire original shop front was removed to allow the car to be brought in and for us to update the outside branding. Movement fabricated a completely new shop front with a back-light Volvo logo, along with a new Visiscreen shutter, which allows people passing on Grafton Street to see into the shop at night.
